Binge to Blackout with Toren Volkmann
Toren Volkmann tells his tale of plunging into the abyss of alcohol abuse and his mother who struggles to help him. Through his experience, you will learn why underage drinkers do not want to quit; what communities can do to help; and better ways to communicate about alcohol. The binge-drinking scene will be considered from the side of the abuser and the perceived stigma that blocks seeking help. Hear parents’ fears and frustrations in reaching out to their kids and understand how powerful parental influence is to your teen’s decision-making about alcohol.
The evening presentation on April 18 will be for parents only, in All Saints Chapel. On Friday, April 19, a special schedule (school will start at 8:30 a.m.) will allow for the Middle School and Upper School to receive separate presentations. (Click here to view the schedule.)
